The Amendment rezones rural living properties near Central Road Drysdale to the General Residential Zone and applies overlay controls to manage future residential development.

This amendment has been approved and was gazetted on 22 July 2021.

The Amendment was adopted by Council on 15 December 2020 and sent to the Minister for Planning for approval.

An Independent Panel was appointed to review submissions. It conducted a Panel Hearing on the 24-27 August 2020.  The Panel has provided its report to Council and a copy is provided below under “Panel Hearing Documents”.

The Panel Hearing for Greater Geelong Planning Scheme Amendment C363ggee was held by video conference from Monday 24 August to Thursday 27 August 2020.

The Directions Hearing for C363ggee proceeded by video conference at 10am on Friday 29 May 2020.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions the C363 Panel decided to adjourn the hearing scheduled to commence on 6 April 2020. The Panel letter informing of this decision is available below under ‘Panel Hearing Documents'.

Council considered a report on the submissions to this Amendment on 28 January 2020 and resolved to refer them to an Independent Panel.

The Amendment applies to rural living zoned properties bounded by Jetty Road, Thomas Street, Wyndham Street and to the rear boundary of Central Road properties, Drysdale. The Amendment also applies to residential zoned land at 1 Sheileen Court, 2-20 Sheileen Court and 23 Marsh Court, Drysdale.

The Amendment proposes to rezone the Rural Living Zone land to General Residential Zone Schedule 1, and apply a Development Plan Overlay and Development Contributions Plan Overlay to guide residential development. A Design and Development Overlay is proposed to apply to adjoining land at Sheileen Court and Marsh Court to provide for future road and drainage connections.

The decision to prepare and exhibit the Amendment was made by Council at it's meeting on 28 May 2019.  The minutes from the meeting can be viewed under 'supporting documents'.
