approved and was gazetted on 16 July 2020.

The Amendment was adopted by Council on 24 March 2020 and sent
to the Minister for Planning for approval on the date listed above.

A report to seek adoption of the Amendment will now be considered by Council at the 24 March 2020 meeting.
For the safety of the community, councillors and staff and to ensure social distancing, the City will no longer permit public attendance at Council meetings for now. Meetings will be accessible online to the public and will be live streamed.

Council will consider an
officer’s report at the 28 January 2020 meeting and will decide whether the
amendment should be adopted.

The Panel has provided
its report to Council and a copy is provided below under “Panel Hearing
Documents”.
Council officers are
reviewing the Panel’s recommendations and will prepare a report to be
considered at a future Council meeting.

An Independent Panel has
been appointed to review submissions. It will conduct a Panel Hearing on 22 - 27 August 2019.
After the hearing, the
Panel usually takes 4-8 weeks to provide its report back to Council.

Council considered a report on the submissions to this Amendment on 25 June 2019 meeting and resolved to refer them to an Independent Panel.

submission will be notified about the Panel Hearing (the first step is a
Directions Hearing) and given an opportunity to present to the Panel.

Council has prepared Amendment C372 to the planning scheme and two associated planning permits.
The land affected by the amendment and permit is 35 & 69-93 Hams Road, Waurn Ponds and Barwon Water reserve located north of the railway line between Ghazeepore Road and Anglesea Road, Waurn Ponds.
The amendment proposes to rezone land at 35 and 69-73 Hams Road, Waurn Ponds from the Farming Zone to the General Residential Zone with a Design and Development Overlay and rezones an adjoining Barwon Water reserve to the Public Use Zone.
The permit applications are for multi-lot subdivision, removal of native vegetation and variation to restrictions and easements.
A draft voluntary Section 173 Agreement is also being exhibited with the amendment and permit. This requires the landowner/developer to deliver infrastructure and make payments towards community facilities in the area.
The decision to prepare and exhibit the Amendment was made by Council at it’s meeting on 11 December 2018. The minutes from the meeting can be viewed under supporting documents.
