Amendment C272 - Interim control - Ocean Grove Significant Tree Project

Current Status

Completed

Gazettal date:

This is a Ministerial Amendment, it was not publicly exhibited.

This Amendment has been approved and was gazetted on 2 March 2017.

Land in the town of Ocean Grove in two precincts identified in the Ocean Grove Significant Vegetation Project 2016.  Land bounded by Thacker Street, Field Street North, Asbury Street East and Tuckfield Street. Land bounded by Blackwell Street, Mann Street, Bell Street and properties on Mallaluka Ave.

The amendment is required as the first step in implementing the Ocean Grove Significant Vegetation Project 2016 which aims to identify and protect, through planning controls, the unique coastal/bush landscape character within the well established areas of the township of Ocean Grove.

The SLO will provide an interim tree clearing control while permanent overlay controls and changes in zoning are being implemented through the normal planning scheme amendment process under amendment C349. Without interim controls there could be a loss of vegetation and development that does not support the landscape objectives detrimentally impacting upon the existing and preferred neighbourhood character.

Amendment C349 is currently on public exhibition until Tuesday 18th April 2017.  Click here to see current exhibited amendment documents and supporting reports.
