The Amendment was adopted by Council on 27th June 2017 and sent to the Minister for Planning for approval on the date listed above.

An Independent Panel was appointed to review submissions. It conducted a Panel Hearing on the 4th April 2017.  The Panel has provided its report to Council and a copy is provided below under “Panel Documents”.

Council officers are reviewing the Panel’s recommendations and will prepare a report to be considered at a future Council meeting.

Council has prepared Amendment C342 to the planning scheme.   The amendment applies to the major portion of 40 – 42 Newcombe Street Drysdale which is surplus Barwon Water land.   

The Amendment is combined with a planning permit application under section 96A of the Act.

The amendment proposes to rezone most of 40 - 42 Newcombe Street Drysdale from Public Use Zone 1 to General Residential Zone Schedule 1 (a small portion of the property occupied by the Barwon Water pump station will remain in the Public Use 1 zone). 

The planning permit application (PP1342/2015) applies to both 40 – 42 Newcombe Street and 41 - 47 Elgin Street, Drysdale and seeks seeks approval for a 10 lot residential subdivision on both sides of Elgin Street.
